Box office update for RRR Japan: SS Rajamouli’s film has over 15 lakh admissions in 305 days

There is no doubt that RRR is the top-grossing Indian film in the Japanese market with a gross of more than 2.345 billion yen (roughly Rs 140 crores).

In the Japanese box office, SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles and Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in supporting roles, has been running for more than 305 days and has collected around 2.345 billion yen. As things are going, it is difficult to determine how much the film will collect in its full run. Every prediction has been thrown to the winds when it comes to the Japan box office so far. There is no doubt that Japan is among the leggiest markets for accepted films, and RRR’s explosive performance shows just that. RRR is currently the highest grossing Indian movie, and there is no sign that it is going to be surpassed anytime soon.

In 2022, RRR became the highest grossing Indian film worldwide due to its phenomenal box office performance in Japan

In terms of global collections, KGF 2 outperformed RRR at the end of 2022. The incredible performance of RRR in Japan was a pleasant surprise for the makers, as KGF 2 had been initially named the highest grossing Indian film of 2022. As RRR’s collections in Japan began to build-up, it eventually eclipsed KGF 2 as the highest grossing Indian film of 2022. KGF 2 is the highest grossing Indian film in India of 2022, while RRR is the highest grossing Indian film globally in 2022.

In the coming weeks, it will be interesting to analyze RRR’s box office trajectory

RRR’s performance in Japan will be interesting to watch over the next few weeks. It won’t surprise me if its run in Japan extends for over a year. If you’re in Japan, check out RRR at a theatre near you.
