Summer Signing with a Controversial Background
Lammons joined the Colts during the summer, shortly after the 27-year-old received sentencing for his involvement in a violent incident in Las Vegas in 2022. He was alleged to have been involved in an altercation in which he stomped on a man who had previously been attacked by Saints running back Alvin Kamara. Kamara himself received a three-game suspension for his role in the incident.

Guilty Plea and Compensation
In the legal aftermath, Lammons pleaded guilty in the case and was subsequently ordered to pay $210,000 to cover the victim’s medical expenses, adding a layer of complexity to his career.
Shuffling the Roster
Initially, the Colts added Lammons to provide depth and support on special teams for the season. However, Lammons’ transition to the practice squad comes shortly after the impressive debut of second-round rookie cornerback JuJu Brents, coinciding with former starting cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. being inactive.
Colts Cornerback Roster
With these developments, the Colts’ cornerback roster now features a mix of talent including JuJu Brents, Darrell Baker Jr., Kenny Moore II, Dallis Flowers, Tony Brown II, and seventh-round rookie Jaylon Jones. This shakeup underscores the team’s commitment to maintaining a competitive and agile roster for the season ahead.
