In readiness for this global event, the city will enact temporary measures, resulting in short-term restrictions and alterations to traffic flow. In preparation for the G-20 Summit, Delhi will experience a temporary shutdown of educational institutions and government-private offices. This closure, scheduled from September 8 to 10, has been planned to ensure the seamless execution of this international event, providing delegates and authorities with an uninterrupted environment to concentrate on its proceedings.

Ensuring Access to Essentials During G20 Mini Lockdown

Amidst concerns stemming from misinformation on social media regarding the availability of crucial items like food, milk, vegetables, and medicines during the temporary measures, it is imperative to provide clarity. Essential service establishments, encompassing grocery stores, vegetable vendors, dairy outlets, and medical stores, will continue to operate without disruption in residential areas. This steadfast availability ensures that residents can readily access essential supplies during this period.

Navigating Delhi During the G-20 Summit

As the G-20 Summit takes center stage, specific areas within Delhi will observe entry restrictions. Yet, essential routes like the DND (Delhi Noida Direct) and Akshardham roads will remain open and accessible. Furthermore, traffic on the Ring Road and Outer Ring Road will continue unimpeded, ensuring smooth travel between Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram, and throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).

G-20 Summit Dress Rehearsal and Preparatory Measures

As part of its meticulous preparations for the upcoming G-20 Summit, Delhi is set to conduct a comprehensive dress rehearsal on September 7, structured into three phases spanning from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, 4:30 PM to 6 PM, and 7 PM to 11 PM. To facilitate this rehearsal, several roads within Delhi will undergo temporary closures during these intervals.

Importantly, these road closures are strategically planned to have minimal impact on the daily routines of Delhi’s residents. The city is fully committed to ensuring that these essential preparations culminate in a successful and secure G-20 Summit, all while striving to minimize inconveniences for its residents.
