Jaguar Expands Charging Network through Tesla Partnership

Jaguar Partners with Tesla for EV Advancement

In a significant development for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, a major car company has entered into a substantial agreement with Tesla to elevate its next generation of electric cars. Jaguars, renowned for their luxury and innovation, are poised to gain access to Tesla’s extensive supercharger network in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Seamless Integration of Charging Standards

Starting in 2025, all newly sold electric vehicles in this region will come equipped with full integration of the North American Charging Standard (NACS), eliminating the need for adapters. This strategic move ensures that Jaguar drivers can conveniently access Tesla’s robust charging infrastructure.

Optimized Charging Technology

Jaguar’s in-house battery and power electronics technology have been meticulously designed to maximize charging rates on both V3 and V4 Superchargers. This optimization ensures that Jaguar EV owners can enjoy faster and more efficient charging experiences.

Tesla’s Widely Accessible NACS

Tesla’s NACS surpasses its competitors, offering greater availability and reliability compared to the rival CCS (Combined Charging System) network supported by automakers like Volkswagen and Hyundai Motor. This partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to advancing EV technology and infrastructure.

Mark Camilleri, Jaguar’s director of electrification services, expressed the company’s dedication to sustainability, saying, “JLR is dedicated to helping our clients make the switch to electric vehicles and to our commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2039. Today’s announcement is an important step as we deliver an outstanding charging experience for our all-electric Jaguar clients.”

He added, “Tesla has created a charging network across the globe that delivers this, and we are delighted to be working with them to provide access for Jaguar clients. This agreement will enable Jaguar drivers with NACS-equipped vehicles in the USA, Canada, and Mexico to use Superchargers without an adapter.”

Tesla’s V4 Supercharger

This collaboration follows Tesla’s recent unveiling of the V4 Supercharger, introduced at the company’s flagship showroom in Tottenham, north London. This next-generation charger has been specifically engineered to accommodate non-Tesla vehicles, further expanding the reach and utility of the Supercharger network.

The partnership between Jaguar and Tesla signifies a promising future for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, offering enhanced convenience and accessibility for EV drivers across North America. Stay tuned for more exciting developments in the world of electric mobility.
