Kenneth Petty’s House Arrest: Feud with Offset Sparks Legal Consequences

Kenneth Petty’s House Arrest Amid Feud
In a recent turn of events, Kenneth Petty, the husband of renowned rapper Nicki Minaj, finds himself under house arrest for violating the terms of his probation. His probation violation is linked to a series of threatening messages directed towards Offset, the husband of Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B. This development has reignited the long-running feud between the two rap powerhouses.
A History of Feuding
Cardi B, aged 30, and Nicki Minaj, aged 40, have a well-documented history of feuding, with both artists engaging in public disputes via social media over the years. Their rivalry reached a boiling point in September 2018 when a physical altercation unfolded at a New York fashion week party, making headlines across the globe.
Kenneth Petty’s House Arrest
Kenneth Petty, aged 45, now faces 120 days of home detention as a result of his probation violation. The court order, filed in the Central District of California, cites his involvement in making threatening remarks towards a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record. The “specific individual” mentioned in the order is rapper Offset, aged 31.
The threat was made in a video clip that quickly went viral on social media. In the video, Petty and his associates are seen outside a New York City hotel where Offset was reportedly staying. Petty can be heard making menacing comments, including: “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral p***y!” These videos directly contravene the terms of his probation.
Kenneth Petty’s legal troubles began when he was sentenced to three years of probation in July 2022 after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020. Previously, Petty had been convicted of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995, serving four years in a New York prison.
Offset’s Response
Offset, formerly part of the Atlanta rap group Migos, appeared unfazed by the threatening remarks. In a video response, he casually remarked, “I’m getting off a jet. He’s funny.”
Offset and Cardi B tied the knot in 2017 and share two children together, a daughter named Kulture and a son named Wave Set Cephus.
Kenneth Petty, on the other hand, married Grammy-winning rapper Nicki Minaj in 2019. The couple, who were childhood sweethearts, welcomed a son in September 2020.
A History of Tensions
The tensions between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been simmering for years, culminating in the 2018 New York fashion week party incident. Video footage from the event captured Cardi B attempting to confront someone and subsequently being restrained by security. The following day, Cardi B took to Instagram to express her frustration, particularly regarding comments made about her child and motherhood.
This latest chapter in the ongoing feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B has now spilled over into the actions of their respective husbands, creating a legal and media spectacle that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
