MotoGP Bharat 2023 – High-Speed Racing at Buddha International Circuit
MotoGP Bharat 2023 officially commences today, September 22, at the iconic Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida. This three-day racing extravaganza marks a significant milestone for Indian Motorsports, resembling the grandeur of Formula 1 events of the past.
The Ultimate Race
The Grand Prix of India is set to showcase the talents of 82 riders from 41 teams, all competing for glory in the MotoGP, Moto 2, and Moto 3 categories throughout the action-packed weekend. The excitement kicks off at 9 am today, and for those unable to attend in person, the event can be streamed live on the JioCinema app.
Safety First
Concerns about rider safety have been addressed with meticulous planning and track modifications. The Buddh International Circuit, renowned for hosting Formula 1 races from 2011 to 2013, has been tailored to meet the specific demands of two-wheel racing. Safety enhancements include the extension of gravel traps around the track, providing a safer buffer for riders who may stray off course. Additionally, air fences and foam barriers have been strategically placed to ensure the utmost safety for the daring competitors.
Speed Thrills
While the Formula 1 layout boasted 16 challenging turns, the MotoGP configuration will feature 13 thrilling turns. Notably, the circuit boasts one of the longest straights on the MotoGP calendar, setting the stage for riders to reach record-breaking speeds, potentially nearing 370 km/h.
