Currey’s former coach Milos Sarcev took to social media to announce the tragic news, describing it as ‘heartbreaking’ and ‘absolutely shocking.’

Sarcev wrote: ‘Absolutely shocking, heartbreaking news – that my former athlete @neil_currey died today…taking his own life.
‘My last/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia.
‘I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. RIP Neil and God bless your soul.’

A Rising Star in Bodybuilding
Neil Currey, born in the United Kingdom, began his journey in bodybuilding in 2017 and made significant strides. He finished fifth in the pro muscle category at the World Championships.
In 2022, Currey achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the New York Pro, securing his ticket to the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition.
Later that year, he fulfilled his dreams by competing on the Mr. Olympia stage, finishing 16th in the Classic Physique category.
