PM Modi Commends National Teacher Award 2023 Winners on Teachers’ Day

On Teachers’ Day 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a special interaction with the recipients of the National Teacher Award 2023 at his residence. During the event, he emphasized the crucial role of educators in molding the minds of the nation’s youth.

PM Modi expressed the significance of dedicated teachers and their influence on young learners. He encouraged the award-winning teachers to inspire their students to explore their region’s history and culture, fostering an appreciation for the diverse heritage of our country.

The interaction took place at Lok Kalyan Marg on September 4, with the presence of Union Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, among others.

Honoring Excellence

This year, 75 exceptional educators from various regions across the country were chosen for the National Teacher Award. They will be honored by President Draupadi Murmu on September 5 in a ceremony to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Each recipient will receive a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, and a silver medal. The event will be organized by the Voice of Chandrayaan 3 Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.

The awardees include 50 school teachers, 13 teachers from higher education institutions, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. They will also have the privilege of interacting with the President.

The National Teacher Award aims to celebrate the remarkable contributions of exceptional teachers who have not only enhanced the quality of education but also enriched the lives of their students. It acknowledges their unwavering commitment to the noble cause of educating the future generation of our nation.
