SonyLIV’s Scam 2003 : The Telgi Story – A New Chapter Unfolds

Introduction to Scam 2003: The Telgi Story

SonyLIV’s Scam franchise returns with “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story,” following the tremendous success of “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.” This time, the series delves into another financial scandal that rocked the nation – the Stamp Paper Scam, also known as The Telgi Scam.

The Portrayal of Abdul Karim Telgi

Actor Gagan Dev Riar takes on the challenging role of Abdul Karim Telgi, the mastermind behind the 30,000 crore scam in India.

Behind the Scenes

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the series is adapted from Sanjay Singh’s book, “Telgi Scam: Reporters Ki Diary.” The star-studded cast includes Shashank Ketkar, Bharat Jadhav, Sana Amin Sheikh, Sameer Dharmadhikari, and Talat Aziz.

Unique Release Strategy

In a departure from the previous season, SonyLIV chose a unique release strategy for “Scam 2003.” Instead of making all episodes available at once, they released only the first 5 episodes on September 1.

Upcoming Volume 2 Release

Fans eagerly awaiting more episodes will have to exercise patience. “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story Volume 2” is set to release in November 2023, with an additional 5 episodes. While the exact release date is yet to be disclosed, the wait for the next installment will be a few months long.

 A Familiar Divide

SonyLIV’s decision to split the series into two volumes mirrors a similar approach used earlier this year by Disney+ Hotstar for “The Night Manager.” This division strategy has sparked mixed reactions among viewers and fans of the Scam franchise.
