A Grateful Pop Icon
Swift, currently on a break from her record-breaking Eras Tour, took the stage to express her heartfelt gratitude while clutching the iconic Moon Person statuette. She remarked, “To have the winner decided by fan votes means the world to me.”
This marks Swift’s second consecutive win for the coveted Video of the Year award. Last year, she earned this honor for her captivating 10-minute rendition of the breakup ballad “All Too Well.” Swift’s triumph this year further solidifies her status as a music industry powerhouse.
MTV proudly reported that Swift’s remarkable nine VMA awards tied the record for the most wins in a single night, encompassing categories like Song, Artist, and Album of the Year. These victories bring Swift’s lifetime total to an impressive 23 awards, second only to Beyonce in this category.
